Sub :  Demand to reschedule Board examination for all students affected by recent violence in North East Delhi

Sir/Madam
Lok Shikshak Manch wishes to bring to your urgent notice the grave matter of many students of Class X and XII who are residing in parts of North East Delhi and would be/have been unable to sit for their Board exams due to ongoing violence in this part of the city.

It has come to our notice that the CBSE has already taken a decision to postpone the Classes X and XII Board Examinations which were scheduled for Wednesday (26th February) in 86 centres in North East Delhi under the above mentioned circumstances. Nevertheless, this measure doesn’t help those students who reside in the area but whose centres don’t fall in the North East district. It can be life threatening for them to even step out of home and travel through the area. Moreover, public transport is also not running normally in the affected area.

We therefore request you to immediately issue orders to all schools in Delhi to proactively prepare lists of all such students residing in the affected areas and inform them through official means that their exams will be conducted on later dates as and when declared by CBSE. This can only happen when Directorate of Education (under the GNCT of Delhi) and CBSE coordinate together to ensure that not even a single child living or studying in the affected areas is forced to miss the exam and thereby lose an academic year.

We hope that CBSE will ensure that rights of all affected children are fully protected in this grave situation.
Thanking you

Lok Shikshak Manch
